All the patient rooms have been renewed to provide women with a comfortable environment while they are in the hospital. This is the first step in creating a department dedicated to women’s health. Patient and Visitor Parking InformationParking is available at the hospital for visitors. Information DeskInformation desks are located on the ground floor at the main entrance, emergency room, and on the 1st Floor in the Private Clinics. Desks are staffed with knowledgeable staff that can help answer any questions. (Ext 1931/1932). Patient Information/Patient PrivacyPatient privacy is important to Hammoud Hospital UMC. Patients have the right to limit access and confidentiality. Patients can indicate to the admissions or nursing staff that no information is to be shared about their condition and/or that they wish not to have visitors. If such a request has been made, it will be communicated to you. Our staff is trained to respect all patient’s wishes based on their personal beliefs and are required to follow all policies for the maintenance of patient-healthcare worker confidentiality of clinical and personal information. Waiting Room for FamiliesWaiting rooms are available on each floor of the hospital. A small consultation room is available in the ICU for family members to speak privately with a doctor. Coffee Shop and CafeteriaThere is a cafeteria located on the 7th Floor of the hospital. The Coffee Shop is located next to the main entrance of the hospital. Meals With a PatientVisitors can share a meal with the patient they are visiting. If you are planning to bring food into the hospital for a patient, please check with the patient's nurse or clinician before doing so. Infectious DiseasesVisitors who have an active transmissible illness are kindly requested to avoid visiting any patient rooms. For visitors who have been exposed to any transmissible infectious disease such as chicken pox, tuberculosis (TB), mumps or measles within three weeks of their visit, please speak with the patient's nurse before visiting. Visitor HoursVisiting hours are available daily, from 9 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 8 pm in most patient care areas. Visitors must be at least 12 years old. You are required to leave the room while a patient is receiving a treatment. After 8 pm, visitors are not allowed on patient floors unless they have obtained an overnight permit. Intensive Care Units (ICU, CCU, CSU and ICN) have different visiting hours; from 10 am to 11 am and 3 pm to 4 pm daily. There are special considerations for siblings of pediatric patients and children of obstetric patients. Gift ShopThe hospital’s gift shop is located in the hospital main lobby. It sells gift items, balloons, reading materials, toiletries and stationary among others. |
